Sea Scout Ship 25 serves the entire Washington, DC metropolitan area, but is especially available to young adults from the District of Columbia. All of our meeting places are near a METRO station, and our times are chosen to emphasize safety. For instance, we normally meet on Saturday morning and disfavor evening meetings when Sea Scouts might be traveling home at later hours.
Regular Meetings
Our most common meeting arrangement is twice-monthly on Saturday morning from 10 AM until Noon at the Harbor Patrol Headquarters, located at 550 Water Street, SW. However, we frequently alter the hours of meetings to accommodate training activities. Sometimes our meeting location changes as well. Always consult the website’s Calendar of Events first to confirm the time and location of each meeting. In addition, the Skipper’s Staff sends out a Skipper’s Note every Wednesday to all youth members and parent/guardians summarizing upcoming activities, including authoritative meeting arrangements.
Harbor Patrol Headquarters
The Harbor Patrol is a specialized unit of the District of Columbia Metropolitan Police. The women and men who work here serve the needs of our City by focusing on the protection of citizens as they interact with the maritime environment. Ship 25 is not a part of the Harbor Patrol, but we greatly respect the work of its members. Harbor Patrol members sometimes participate in our training activities.
