Calendar of Events

This Schedule last revised on March 4, 2024

This is our comprehensive calendar for the entire year, and includes every meeting and activity, except for small group training activities which are arranged on short notice for interested participants. We almost never cancel or change a date, so everyone can plan their own schedules accordingly. We will sometimes change the location of an event or slightly adjust the time frame due based on instructor preferences (especially during the summer). These changes are announced in the regular Skippers Staff Notes.

◆ Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 25-25 events and information are denoted with a diamond.

Sea Scout Uniforming and Equipment.

Young Adult Members: Uniform of the Day for Sea Scouts is Sea Scout Class A for spring and fall trimesters, which consists of button-up shirt with insignia, riggers belt, Ship ball cap, dark socks, soft sole shoes and dark navy long pants. For the summer trimester, Sea Scout Class B which consists of embroidered Ship tee shirt, dark shorts, riggers belt, Ship ball cap, dark athletic socks and soft sole shoes. Sea Scouts must bring their Ship-issued Coast Guard backpack to all meetings containing their Advancement Scoreboard, Basic Seamanship and Safety Handbook and other items specified for the particular meeting. During the summer trimester, Sea Scouts must always bring their red Ship-issued Mustang Survival personal flotation device (“PFD”. Note: Customized Ship 25 PFDs are Ship property and must be returned if a Sea Scout becomes inactive.

Young adult members of Ship 25 who are also members of Flotilla 25 should wear a Sea Scout uniform to Ship 25 activities and a Coast Guard uniform to Flotilla 25 activities. Only the shirt and ball cap are different, so members can change uniforms quickly and easily.

Adult Leaders: Sea Scout adult leaders who are not Active or Auxiliary members of the Coast Guard wear the same Uniform of the Day as young adult members (see above). However, adult leaders may always opt to wear the Sea Scout Class A uniform to any Ship 25 activity.

Sea Scout adult leaders who are also Active or Auxiliary members of the Coast Guard may wear either a Coast Guard or Sea Scout uniform to any Ship 25 or Flotilla 25 activity.

Any exceptions to these practices will be communicated by the Skipper, Executive Officer or Boatswain (for the Sea Scout Ship) or the Flotilla Commander or Vice Flotilla Commander (for the Auxiliary Flotilla).

Coast Guard Uniforming. Uniform of the Day for active duty Coast Guard is the Operational Dress Uniform. Uniform of the Day for Flotilla 25 members is the Auxiliary Working Uniform, which consists of tactical polo shirt, riggers belt, Auxiliary ball cap and dark navy bottom (long pants during spring and fall trimesters, shorts during summer trimester). Uniform of the day for Auxiliary members from other flotillas is either the Operational Dress Uniform or the Auxiliary Work Uniform. Any exception to this practice will be communicated by the Flotilla Commander or Vice Flotilla Commander.
